Lady of the manor (in a zara skirt)

This weekend was all about swishing about in my new asymmetric Zara skirt and relaxing in front of log fires in a cosy country hotel with the boy. With the hotel being originally built as a grand home for a wealthy Scottish family, I was feeling like the Lady of the manor (massively appropriate for my Downton Abbey obsession) - but I doubt the real deal's skirts would be as short at the front, and teamed with studded shoes and spiked necklaces.

Luxuriating hotel cats (who liked to sleep under the radiator outside our room), log fires, good food and a trip to then most charming little deli I have ever seen for some rose lemonade made our weekend pretty wonderful - even if the icy cold rain didn't allow for any time outdoors in the fresh air. I'm gonna kid on I am devastated about that last one, but truthfully, it just made me feel less guilty for getting lost into Grazia magazine in front of the fire!

Admittedly my outfits weren't the most outdoor activity friendly anyway.....any tips for future attempts?

  3. Ooooh, I bought that skirt on Thurs night. I love the print but the underskirt part is REALLY short! I'm not sure it even covers my bum! Loathe to spend £10-15 on a slip to wear under it. Will need to decide how bothered I am about preserving my dignity! xx

  4. Thanks all!

@WeShop Yes, I noticed it was a bit short too! But I seem to get away with it, think I've got shorter legs than you x
