So it was my (Fiona) birthday last weekend. and I thought I'd share some of the beauty gifts I received from my crazy generous friends and family. I've been going through a massive beauty phase lately...often staying up far past my bedtime to watch YouTube video after YouTube video from beauty vloggers - and top of my list from this purse-destructing habit was definitely the Emma Hardie 'amazing face' cleanser.
Yes! I discovered this in the Pixiwoo X Caroline Hirons video, and my lovely friends decided to treat me to it after a not so subtle hint. THANK YOU friends. I love it. It's all natural, a super soft balm that you rub together to heat up, smooth all over your face then sweep off with the special, fancy cloth that comes with it. I'm not going to lie, I've been using my normal flannels 'cause the special Emma Hardie cloth looks too nice to open - but I'll get around to it on a nice super spa Sunday, I'm sure. The moringa smell had everyone (even boys) wanting a try at my birthday dinner pre-drinks do...and I'm sure Caroline explains the skin benefits better than me here, but I will say that for the most luxurious cleanse of your life, this is a good investment.
Next on the list were some new Real Techniques by Samantha Chapman brushes, as having tried and loved the basic eye kit I knew I wanted more eye ones for blending (the crease brush is especially good on under-eye concealer, upon recommendation from my friend Stacey) and the face ones for giving good counture. Which leads me on to the next...the Too Faced French Riveria Edition Bronzer Kit. Try say that after a few cocktails at the pub.
This bronzer kit is just really lovely, and an amazing gift from my mum. Aside from the super swish packaging, which I am always a sucker for, the products are working really well for me and are effectively keeping up the post-Barcelona glow. Bravo. Chocolate soleil is a really nice matte bronze which you can team up with the gorgeous highlighters to get a glowy tanned look, and the primer is a bonus which stops the makeup sinking into any problem pore areas. But my favourite part of this kit is the cheat sheets. I mean, wow. They have helped me so much as I am generally rubbish at bronzer, and super paranoid it looks patchy/orange when I wear it - the results from the 'lose 10lbs in 10 seconds' card have been surprisingly pleasant.
As you can imagine, it's nothing but the best when it comes to storing these beauty beauties...which is why I was particularly pleased to get a new Ted Baker makeup bag from my boyfriend (with some slight direction from me). He hunted far and wide in Glasgow for this, so I'm not sure if it's a bit of a best seller or just moving out of season, but I'm so glad he found it as it's the perfect size and I Iove, love, love the print and studded bow.
And last but most definitely not least, here is a snap shot of some of the amazing cards I got from friends and family for my 25th. Am I the only one who keeps cards up for at least a month because I just can't bear to take them down? I seriously think good greeting cards are an art form. The guy in 500 days of Summer didn't know how good he had it!
I'll be back with more birthday beauty soon. Thank you to everyone who gifted me an item on this post - you're too generous and I love you all.
What's on your beauty list this summer?
